We’ve carried various brands of eyewear since we went into business but once we hit upon Smith Optics we never looked back. They have channeled their passion for the outdoors and optics to create a diverse line of superior polarized sunglasses able to satisfy the most rigorous standards. They use the finest materials, designs and polarization technologies in every pair of Smith Optics sunglasses. Their polarized sunglasses are a specially designed film laminated between two layers of lens material. The film properties and alignment create a unique filtering process that blocks horizontally reflected light. This eliminates both hard and ambient glare while still allowing the transmission of selected light rays through the lens. All Smith Optics glasses filter out both UVA and UVB rays. You end up with superior clarity, definition, color transmissions and reduced eyestrain in all conditions.

Smith Optics offers two high-performance optical lens materials. Techlite glass is great for visual acuity and scratch resistance while Carbonic lenses are the choice for high velocity pursuits due to impact resistance as well as being very well priced.

There are two types of polarized glass Lens Tints:

Polarchromic means that these lenses respond to varying light conditions-they darken in bright light, while they lighten in lower light. Lens colors are as follows:

• Polarchromic Copper-Ideal for bright to medium conditions this is an exceptional general purpose lens tint-provides medium contrast with increased definition. Increases depth perception while maintaining a soothing effect on the eye in a variety of conditions. This is our Best Selling Tint.
• Polarchromic Gray-Ideal for bright to medium conditions. Maintains true color definition in a variety of light conditions.

Polarized lenses do not change color. Lens colors are as follows:

• Polarized Brown-Blocks 99.9% of reflected glare while providing increased depth perception and a "soft effect" on the eye, reducing eye strain.
• Polarized Copper-Blocks 99.9% of reflected glare. Provides relatively true colors with moderate contrast.Excellent for all around use.
• Polarized Gray-Blocks 99.9% of reflected glare while preserving natural colors in order to provide true color definition.
